Viasat does not offer its own TV service, but you can pair your Viasat internet with a DISH Network TV plan if you want TV service. With DISH TV plus Viasat, you will get 80,000+ On Demand titles, Live TV, sports and local channels, DISH Anywhere to watch on the go, DVR service and the DISH Voice Remote. The Essentials plan is the only Viasat package that requires a 12-month contract — all other plans do not have a contract. You can incur an early termination fee (ETF) of $15.00/mo. for each month left on your contract if you cancel

Depending on the work required, Viasat’s professional installation can run from $50 to $500. New Viasat customers will need professional installation because the satellite dish and other equipment must be precisely placed outside the home. A qualified technician must determine the best location for the dish based on the terrain of your home. Factors that make the installation more or less expensive include credit qualifications and location of the satellite (e.g., standard installation costs less than installs that require additional wiring, etc.)

While there are no hard data caps, Viasat says, “if your data usage is trending to exceed the typical usage of a residential user on our network, you may have reduced priority during times of network congestion resulting in slower speeds. Typical usage currently means usage trending to not exceed 850 GBs in any 30-day period.”

A Viasat WiFi modem is $15.00/mo. or $250 for a lifetime lease. If you end your Viasat service, you must return the modem, power supply and AC cord within 30 days or risk being charged up to $300 in unreturned equipment fees. Viasat sends you a convenient prepaid box for item returns.
