Key takeaways
Our methodology
We evaluate broadband providers in four categories: affordability, performance, value and customer satisfaction. Each category contains multiple sub-factors, all of which are weighted differently to impact the provider’s overall score.
For each sub-factor, we score all providers on a continuous scale of one to five, relative to the industry as a whole. Because the average download speed in America is currently 290 Mbps, for example, we assigned all plans with download speeds between 100 and 299 Mbps a score between three and four. Xfinity’s 200 Mbps plan received a 3.50 score for download speed, while Spectrum’s 500 Mbps plan got a 3.71.
We only considered standardized data points in our scoring system. More abstract data like consistency of service and brand reputation is still part of our analysis, but we opted to let our writers address them in the context of each review.
Should you bundle TV and internet?
You should bundle your internet and TV services if you like the convenience of one monthly bill, one installation and centralized tech support.
Allconnect’s experts can help you compare providers in your area and find TV-internet bundles that come with bonus perks (e.g., faster speeds, channel upgrades, new customer freebies), while flagging any potential deal-breakers in the fine print, such as contracts with early termination fees (ETFs) or sudden price hikes after the promotional period.
Pros for bundling
-
One convenient monthly bill
-
Same company tech support for TV and internet
-
Possible discounts or plan upgrades
Cons of bundling
-
Doesn’t always guarantee savings
-
Term agreements and ETFs may apply
-
May include features you don’t need/want

Types of TV plans
Just like internet connection types (e.g., fiber, 5G, cable, etc.), TV bundles vary by provider, too. Knowing the difference between the types of TV plans can really matter, especially if you’re searching for certain channels, want fast streaming capabilities or live in an area with limited options.
Cheap TV and internet packages
The TV and internet packages here feature the lowest-priced options with a broadband internet connection (download speeds above 100 Mbps) and a standard TV plan. Cheaper bundles are available from many of these providers, but they come with sub-broadband speeds or limited TV service. Check out the best cheap internet plans.

Satellite TV and internet bundles
In some areas, the best internet provider may not offer TV service, or vice versa. Traditional cable TV and internet bundles can also be hard to find in rural regions. In these cases, satellite TV providers DIRECTV and DISH are available nearly everywhere as solid TV options to pair with DSL, fixed wireless/5G or satellite internet. In either case, there are still TV and internet bundles available, though you may not be able to save by bundling.

Streaming and internet packages
Cable companies may have their own live TV streaming services or devices that you can bundle with internet. You likely won’t get the same savings and special offers with traditional cable and internet bundles, but packaging your services together provides the convenience of one bill, with one company.
Filter your results:

Expert tip
If you’re seeking both internet and TV channels for your home, then bundling TV and internet can save time and money. However, for households that prefer more streaming variety, standalone streaming packages like YouTube TV or Sling TV may offer more options.
Internet and TV bundle FAQs
Can I sign up for phone, TV and internet bundles?
Yes. With certain providers, you can bundle wireless phone plans with internet or TV packages. Traditional bundles include home phone instead of wireless; however, it may be possible if the provider offers wireless service to do a double- or triple-play bundle with cellphone service. In some cases, you may even be able to do a quad-play bundle with internet, TV, home phone and wireless phone service.
Can I bundle cable and internet without a contract?
Cox, Frontier, Spectrum, AT&T internet, DIRECTV and Xfinity all offer no-contract options. However, if you choose a package without a term agreement, you may pay a higher monthly rate or you may not qualify for additional bundle features.
Can I save money by bundling TV and internet?
Not always. TV bundle discounts don’t necessarily apply to all companies because their TV packages are only available as part of a bundle. Since there is no standalone TV pricing to compare the bundled pricing to, there are no identifiable TV bundle savings.
Are cable bundles better than satellite bundles?
Satellite TV providers usually have more channels to offer you, and at a lower price than cable TV. If you’re looking for a no-contract plan, cable might be a better option.
