What do Optimum customers think?
Optimum is a cable and fiber internet provider. Optimum has lower customer satisfaction scores than most of the top ISPs in our survey, but it offers high-speed fiber plans up to 8,000 Mbps and cable plans up to 1,000. Optimum is also one of the more affordable providers, with its cable and fiber plans starting at $25.00/mo.

Very good price not always reliable

The absolute worse customer service I have ever engaged with in my entire life. Four different representatives had a different response to moving and how to return equipment. Gloria was by far the most frustrating.

Terrible plan, terrible provider, terrible everything, you complain about the speed being bad and that you have no choice but to switch providers, and then your internet is magically better, then you go about your life for a couple weeks then boom, once again terrible internet. They sent a guy out here maybe 2 weeks ago, cool guy saying yeah it looks fine to me. He even was able to upgrade the speed to a gig. Again it’s fine for a time then once again it becomes terrible. I don’t understand how a provider is this bad no wonder they’ve lost 65,000 of their clients last year. Unfortunately for the people in Tyler, Tx, sometimes it is the only option but hopefully it will soon change. As for me I’m switching either to Verizon’s home internet, AT&T, or T-Mobile.

Poor installation; had tv for 7 days in first month; but charged full monthly fee.

Frequent outages. Higher prices. Speeds are never close to the 940mb advertised. New customers receive way better deals than the loyal customers who have been with them for years.

I had a very frustrating experience with Optimum. They ported my number, and it has been almost 15 hours, but it is still not activated. I spent around 7 hours on calls with their customer support, and all they keep saying is that they cannot help in this situation. I spent around 7 hours on calls with their customer support, and all they keep saying is that they cannot help in this situation. On top of that, I ordered an iPhone 17 Pro through my Optimum account, but after two days, they are now saying they cannot even see the order in their system. This is extremely concerning and unprofessional. Overall, this has been a very stressful experience. I would not recommend Optimum to anyone. If you want peace of mind and reliable service, it’s better to avoid them.

I have lived all over and have dealt with many different internet/cable companies… OPTIMUM Is Awful the Internet speed they say you will get you don’t, probably less then half. 3 different installers came out to install the boxes & once they found out they were gonna have to run a cable line through the attic they said they weren’t capable of doing that…

I was without service for 19 of 30 days. I asked for a refund and they credited me $13! My bill is $216 a month. I called every day for assistance and only got sorry. Do not use them!!

Optimum might be the worst internet provider I’ve ever seen. The service is unreliable, I’ve never gotten anywhere CLOSE to the speed that I’m paying for, and the cost is FAR higher than it should be. Seriously, if they didn’t have a virtual monopoly on high speed service in this area, I can’t imagine they’d have any business at all.

The service is ok but the price I’m paying for being a customer of 17 years is ridiculous. Bill went up $40 in one month. At this point I’m looking into other options for services.
