I am elderly and don’t use my computer a lot. They had me hooked up at the highest, fastest rate. I called to have it decreased. After a month they put it back to the highest without telling me. Not right.

Mediacom is the most unreliable internet service I have ever had. I work from home, so I need to have uninterrupted service and I was down at least one time per month if not more often. When I would call in to inquire about interruption, they would make me do all the things I had already done to troubleshoot before calling in but they wouldn’t listen. They would just go into their script not listening to a thing I said. Then when I asked for my service to be finally turned off, I was told I HAD to bring the equipment into an office location. When I called back in the midst of my move (a month later) to obtain address of this office location I was told I had to drive to, I was told I could get a label and mail it in. At that point I was committed to the drive to the office. On my 20 minute drive to this office location, I received a voicemail that said that “Brian” was in my location and he could stop by to get the equipment. Talk about inconsistency and miscommunications. Ugh! Then just now, I received a January 2026 bill! My service is turned off so why would I be billed for January. I would have cancelled years ago if there was another internet option in my area. Mediacom has a lot of work to do to ever get me business again.

Mediacom home internet and customer service is terrible. The internet goes out often and for long periods of time. I often cannot utilize the service even though I pay every month. My contract ended and my rate increased 130%. As a result of cost and poor internet service, I decided to cancel and go with another home internet company. I asked 2 supervisors in their loyalty/retention team if they could match the rate I was getting with another company, and they both declined my request. They would rather lose me as a customer, than match a competitors rate. I was willing to give them another chance only due to the hassle of switching. Absolutely terrible customer service and customer retention. The company I work for has >50,000 employees and they will all hear about my experience.

Mediacom is the worst cable company. Customer Service is terrible. Speed is sporadic. Frequent interruptions. High prices. They could care less. Customer Service = they will always pass you on to someone else. Information from Service providers is Frequently incorrect. I WOULD NOT recommend this company.
