Verizon’s expansion unlocks new internet and mobile discounts

Frontier now operates as a “Verizon company” after Verizon’s purchase of the fiber internet provider was approved in January 2026. The acquisition was first announced in late 2024, but both providers had to overcome several regulatory hurdles until the purchase could be finalized.

Now, Frontier’s fiber network is fully integrating with Verizon’s own Fios network, expanding Verizon’s service footprint to encompass almost 30 million fiber passings across 31 states.

Before purchasing Frontier, Verizon’s fiber footprint was limited, covering small service areas primarily in the northeastern U.S. The provider’s purchase of Frontier is a major step in Verizon’s expansion strategy, which also leverages its 5G network that powers Verizon’s 5G home internet service.

What this means for existing Frontier customers

If you’re currently subscribed to a Frontier plan, don’t worry. According to Verizon, there will be no changes to your existing Frontier service, and there’s nothing you need to do. Your current plan price will remain the same, as will your fiber speeds, but as a perk, you’ll now be eligible for Verizon’s exclusive deals, which can save you money.

The only thing to keep in mind is that you’ll now technically be a Verizon Fios customer, not a Frontier customer. While you retain your Frontier fiber service, where you manage your account may change, but you’ll receive information on that (if you haven’t already) from both Verizon and Frontier.

Verizon and Frontier are pushing bundled services

Now that Frontier is operating as a Verizon company, both providers are pushing bundle packages.

If you’re a current Frontier customer, you can sign up with Verizon Mobile to save on your Frontier internet service. If you’re a new Verizon Mobile customer, you can save on a Frontier Fiber plan. Check out the current deals for new customers below:

  • Six months free of Frontier Fiber (up to 1 gig) for new Verizon mobile customers
  • Save $15/mo. on any Frontier fiber plan when you bundle with a Verizon mobile plan

More choices for new customers

Not only does this deal extensively expand Verizon’s fiber footprint, it also offers new customers much more plan variety than ever before.

Verizon Fios plans have speeds ranging from 300 – 2,000 Mbps, while Frontier boasted multi-gig speeds ranging from 200 – 7,000 Mbps. While both companies are pushing Frontier Fiber and Verizon Mobile bundles, you can still sign up for a standalone plan from either provider.
